Ingredients
1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons Black Mission Fig Dark Balsamic from Muskoka Olive Oil
1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
Directions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
In a large bowl, combine the trimmed and halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper. Toss until the sprouts are well coated.
Spread the Brussels sprouts on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, cut side down for optimal caramelization.
Roast the Brussels sprouts in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the edges. Stir halfway through for even cooking.
While the sprouts are roasting, prepare the walnut topping. In a small skillet over medium heat, toast the chopped walnuts for about 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently until fragrant and slightly golden. Remove from heat and set aside.
Once the Brussels sprouts are done, drizzle them with the Black Mission Fig Dark Balsamic, tossing gently to coat. Return to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the glaze to caramelize slightly.
Remove the Brussels sprouts from the oven, sprinkle with the toasted walnuts and optional grated parmesan cheese before serving. Enjoy your delicious dish warm!
